Freight offers on routes

Who can use this feature?

The feature is available to Trans.eu Platform users who have access to the Routes with shippers module (product lines TFF - Trans for Forwarders and TFC - Trans for Carriers).

From this article you will learn:

  • how to receive and handle a freight offer within a route depending on the settlement form,
  • how to negotiate the rate from the offer level and via the messenger.

Within a route, you may receive a freight offer from the shipper, in accordance with previously agreed conditions, including the freight settlement form.

Freight offer

The shipper publishes an offer with a specific rate at which they want to sell the freight. If you accept it, the transaction is concluded automatically and does not require confirmation from the shipper. The first carrier to accept the rate will receive the order for execution.

If the principal has selected the "Wait for negotiations to end" option, your acceptance (even at a Buy Now rate) does not mean the freight is automatically awarded - the final decision is made by the principal, who selects one of the submitted offers.

All new freight offers within routes, addressed directly to you, will go to the Search for loads module, in the For me tab.

  1. When a freight offer appears within a route, you will receive a notification.
  1. Go to the Search for loads module and the For me tab.
  2. Click on the offer to check the freight conditions and details.

You can:

  • Accept the rate - by clicking the Accept button,
  • Reject it - by selecting the I'm not interested option.

If you accept the offer, the transaction will be concluded automatically.

You will receive a notification asking you to complete the initial information, and the order will be moved to the Orders module, in the Active tab.

If you do not want to carry out the offer and select I'm not interested, you must confirm your decision in the new window. Once you do this, the offer will disappear and no one from your company will be able to accept it.

This decision applies only to the given freight offer, not to the entire route.

Freight offer within flexible cooperation

When submitting such an offer, the shipper can enter a rate or publish it without a price.

In both cases, in the rate window you can submit your own proposal:

  • if the rate proposed by the shipper does not suit you and you want to negotiate it,
  • if the shipper did not provide a rate.
When publishing freight offers, the shipper can indicate contact persons from your company who will take part in the freight negotiation. If the shipper does not indicate any employee from your company, the contact person will be the employee who accepts the offer first.
  1. When a freight offer appears within a fixed route, you will receive a notification.
  2. Click on the freight offer to see its details.
  3. Enter your proposal and click Send.
    The proposed rate will wait for acceptance from the other party.

After submitting an offer, you can also withdraw it. Negotiations will resume once you enter a rate again.

  1. The shipper has entered negotiations, now you can: accept their rate, continue negotiating, reject the proposal, end the negotiation.

When submitting a freight offer, the shipper could indicate several contact persons from your company.
Negotiations are visible to all employees, which means you can see how your colleagues negotiated.
In the freight details, click the Negotiations tab and then Other negotiations.

Freight offers in the messenger

You can also conduct negotiations via instant messenger.

  1. Click the IM icon

  1. The shipper has rejected your first offer. To continue negotiating, click Propose a rate.

  1. Enter your rate proposal and click Send.

  1. The orderer has accepted your rate.

Additional settlement forms specified in the route conditions
- Rate per ton – most commonly used in the transport of bulk materials. May be subject to negotiation or have a "Buy now" option.
- Pallet price list – rates based on the number of pallets. It has 2 variants worth distinguishing: a linear rate per pallet, a flat rate per trip, depending on pallet quantity ranges
