Who can use this feature?
This feature is available to CargoON users and the TFF product line who have access to the Dock Scheduler product and the Schedules module.
Time slots cycles can be created by users with the following operational roles: Warehouse manager, Freight management or Full access.

In this article, you will learn how to:

  • create a time slots cycle,
  • manage time slots cycles.

With time slots cycles, you can automatically schedule recurring deliveries for your key carriers. This tool eliminates the need to manually create the same slots every day, significantly speeding up work with a large number of operations.

How to create a time slots cycle

  1. In the Schedules module, open the Schedule tab and select Time slots.
  2. Go to the Time slots cycles tab.
  3. Click Add cycle.
  4. Fill in the form.
On the left side, complete the following details:
    • Operation type (loading, unloading),
    • Time slot length,
    • Carrier name,
    • loading and unloading locations,
    • optional: number of time slots, reference number.

In the form on the right side, define the Cycle settings:

  • Validity period: Specify the cycle start and end date or select the indefinitely option.
  • Frequency: Define how often the slots should repeat (e.g. daily, every 7 days, or on specific days of the week, such as Thursday and Friday).
  • Creation range of slots: Define how far in advance the system should create recurring time slots.

Automatic creation of slots on selected days of the week (e.g. Thursday, Friday) with a set number for a carrier can run long-term (e.g. until the end of the year), but by generating them in advance (e.g. only one week ahead), dates appear gradually. This prevents slots from being blocked too far in advance and reduces empty bookings.

  1. Click Save.

Managing time slots cycles

In the time slots list, recurring slots are marked with a special arrows icon.

Editing a cycle:

  1. Click the selected time slot and select the Edit button.
(You can also click the three-dot icon in the list and select Edit).
  2. Make changes to the cycle parameters.
Time slots from which no bookings have been created will be deleted and replaced with new ones.

Deleting a cycle

  1. Click the selected time slot and select the Delete button.
(You can also click the three-dot icon in the list and select End).
  2. Click Delete/End.
If no bookings have been assigned yet, the system will delete all scheduled time slots.
If bookings already exist, the system will delete only future, unused slots and end the cycle.

FAQ – Time slots cycles

Who can create time slots cycles?

Cycles can be created by users with warehouse manager, freight manager or full access permissions.

Why can't I see all slots in the calendar until the end of the year?

The system creates slots with a defined lead time (e.g. one week or one month in advance) to prevent slots from being blocked too far in advance and to reduce empty bookings.

What happens if I delete a cycle that already has bookings?

In this case, the system will delete all future, unused time slots and end the cycle, but existing bookings will remain.

Can I change the parameters of only one slot in a cycle?

Yes. When editing a single slot, the system displays a message that changes can be applied only within that specific cycle, or you can go to edit the entire rule.
