Price a new fixed route as a carrier

Updated 3 months ago by Ania

Who can use this function?

Function available to freight forwarders (TFF - Trans for Forwarders) and carriers (TFC - Trans for Carriers).

From this article you will learn how to:

  • find a route for pricing
  • price a new fixed route
  • check the negotiation history

Check the new fixed route proposal

When your contractor sends you a proposal for fixed route terms, an alert will be displayed in the Platform notifications - under the bell symbol.

Click on it to open the details of the fixed route.

All the fixed routes can be found in the Fixed routes with shippers module. New proposals are listed in the Under negotiation tab.

In the Status column you can check the status of the negotiations. The most recent offers have one of the following statuses:

  • Propose a price - if the shipper has not proposed a rate and is waiting for your offer
  • Accept the fixed route or negotiate the price - when the shipper has proposed a price and is ready to negotiate
  • Accept the fixed route - when the shipper has proposed a price that is not negotiable.

Price a new fixed route

Click on a given fixed route and view its details. In the negotiation window you can:

  1. Propose a price - enter the amount in the text box and click Send.
  1. If the shipper proposed a price and is willing to negotiate - Accept or negotiate the price. To do this, click Accept or change the price displayed in the text box and click Send.

Wait for the contractor's response. Until then, your offer has the status: Your offer is awaiting approval.

  1. If the shipper has sent a fixed route offer with a variable price, you can accept or refuse it. To do this, click Accept or Refuse.

A variable price means that you agree with the shipper on a flexible form of settlement for the published freight. In the fixed route contract, the shipper only agrees on the currency. Thanks to this solution, you can choose the best freight offer for you.

  1. The shipper can send a fixed route offer with a per-ton settlement. In the window with details of the accepted offer, you will find a note about the form and basis of settlement.

Check the history of fixed route negotiations

At each stage of the negotiation, you can view its history. To do this, click the clock symbol in the fixed route details view.

The history is available to both negotiating parties.
